Following a talk on her new book "A Generation at War: The Civil War Era in a Northern Community," Balll State history professor Nicole Etcheson pauses from signing a book to chat with a buyer. Etcheson spoke about the book, which details the Civil War era in Putnam County, at Thursday's Putnam County Public Library brown bag luncheon. The session was quite a success for the library, overflowing the Kiwanis Room with approximately 70 people and selling Etcheson out of the 20 books she brought along for sale. The event was also sponsored by the Heritage Preservation Society and the Civil War Roundtable. Etcheson's book is available through the University Press of Kansas.
