Ogden Omar Brown of Russellville died at Hendricks Regional Health on Monday morning, June 4, 2012. He was 85.

He was born on Jan. 12, 1927 at Crawfordsville to Branc and Inuf Starnes Brown.

He graduated from Crawfordsville High School. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member and treasurer of the New Life Baptist Church and treasurer of the Little Raccoon Regional Waste.

He retired from Young Brothers Meat Market after 35 years, where he was a butcher. He worked at Metal Forming Industries at Russellville.

He married Maxine Barger on May 11, 1974 at Russellville, and she survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Debbie (Tony) Goss, Denise (Alzin) Trinkle and Leslie (Pete) Penni; two stepsons, Frankie (Patty) Goss and John (Vickie) Goss; two stepdaughters, Janie (Ron) Mitchell, and Susie (Fred) Calvert; 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dora M. Corey.

Preceding him in death were son Philip Brown, grandson Scott Zumer, stepson Norman D. Goss, step-grandson Norman E. Goss and brothers Charlie and David Brown.

Services are planned for Thursday June 7 at Machledt and Servies Funeral Home, 301 E. Green St., Waveland, at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Pastor Kent Fitzsimmons will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the Crawfordsville American Legion and VFW.
