Fillmore Town Council meeting canceled

Wednesday, June 6, 2012

The monthly Fillmore Town Council meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday has been canceled.

Two of the three council members have conflicts on Thursday evening so the meeting would have lacked a quorum.

The town did, however, advertise the acceptance of sealed bids on the old town police car at Thursday's meeting. Because of this, Clerk-Treasurer Wanda Seidler will be at Town Hall accepting any bids that may be submitted.

However, no town business will be can be decided without a quorum of the council.

Seidler did say she expects a special meeting to be scheduled during June to adopt an ordinance complying with the state's new anti-nepotism law. The town must adopt such an ordinance by July 1.

When a new meeting date is set, it will be announced in the Banner Graphic.
