'Teen Pride @ the Library': Own the night kickoff event

Ryan Gullett to perform at Wednesday's "Teen Pride" kickoff event at the Putnam County Public Library.

The kickoff event for the teen summer program "Teen Pride @ the Library: Own the Night" is scheduled for Wednesday, June 13.

The 6-7:30 p.m. program will feature local musician Ryan Gullett.

Gullett is the guitarist for Asteria, a pop rock band from Crown Point that has toured the country on multiple occasions.

More recently, Gullett has begun writing and performing solo, folk-rock material. A video of him performing one of his new songs can be found online at vimeo.com/wolfdancer or on the library's Facebook page.

"Teen Pride @ the Library: Own the Night," will be held every Wednesday evening from 6-7:30 June 13 through Aug. 1.

The program is open to students entering seventh-12th grade and features games, crafts, special events and more. Participants may also enroll in the Teen Summer Reading Program and read for prizes.

The Teen Pride @ the Library: Own the Night schedule is as follows:

June 13 -- Kickoff event with musician Ryan Gullett.

June 20 -- Ping pong, games, crafts, snacks.

June 27 -- Meet at the DePauw Nature Park for a creek wade and fossil hunt

July 4 -- Library closed. No event scheduled.

July 11 -- Ping pong, games, crafts and more.

July 18 -- Sixth Sense Indy Paranormal Group.

July 25 -- Ultimate frisbee.

Aug. 1 -- End of summer party.
