Wanda M. Wainman, 90, of Linton, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Vincennes on Aug. 26, 1921 to Roy and Jenny (Williams) Bond.

Wanda was married to John O. Wainman on Jan. 11, 1941 and they had five children. John preceded her on July 7, 1994.

Wanda was a member of the Salem UCC Church in Westphalia.

She was a homemaker and a Sunshine volunteer at Glenburn Home for more than 30 years. Her greatest joy was her family; she loved gathering them together. She was admired and cherished by family and friends.

Wanda's hobbies included sewing, doll collecting and going to garage sales.

Survivors include two sons, Perry A. (Rose) Wainman of Greencastle and Sam Wainman of Linton; two daughters, Nancy A. (Chuck) Harden and Kathy S. (Tim) Thompson both of Linton, daughter-in-law Gertrude Wainman of California, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sally Britton of Bicknell. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, John B. Wainman, two sisters and seven brothers.

The family has requested that, for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. Mike Roth officiating. Interment will follow at the Edwardsport IOOF Cemetery in Edwardsport.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 3-6 p.m. Sunday and from noon until the hour of service on Monday.
