BRAZIL -- The Brazil Concert Band, under the direction of conductor Matthew S. Huber, invites everyone to bring dad to the big show set for Sunday, June 17.

The free concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the Forest Park bandshell or in the pavilion if rain.

"Fathers' Fantastic Favorites" will offer dad hits from the Big Band Era to Broadway peppered with familiar marches.

Those marches include Sousa's "La Flor De Seville," honoring the city in Spain where the March King's father, Antonio Sousa, grew up and "The Bride Elect" from Sousa's musical comedy by the same name.

From the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, the BCB presents "The Checkered Flag" by former BCB bandsman Fred Jewell.

Jewell and his bands often performed at the Indy 500 during the 1920s and 1930s according to his son, Fred Jewell Jr.

Classic Big Band hits for dad are "Saint Louis Blues," "A String of Pearls," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and "Moonlight Serenade."

A stroll with dad down Times Square will show off "Theme From New York, New York," "Broadway Show Stoppers" and the overtures from both "The King and I" and "Fiddler on the Roof" -- both are shows featuring fatherly stories.
