Putnam students participate in Hoosier Boys State at Trine

ANGOLA -- Local students were among the 520 boys selected to participate in the American Legion Hoosier Boys State at Trine University.

More than 500 high school junior boys from across the state are participating in the program. Founded in 1937, the organization is celebrating its 75th year.

Putnam County participants included:

South Putnam High School student John Briones of Greencastle, who is sponsored by American Legion Post 281.

Cloverdale High School student Nicholas Cupp of Cloverdale, who is sponsored by American Legion Post 281.

Cloverdale High School student Christopher Worthington of Cloverdale, who is sponsored by American Legion Post 281.

Greencastle High School student Avery Robinson of Greencastle, who is sponsored by American Legion Post 58.

Greencastle High School student Matthew White of Greencastle, who is sponsored by American Legion Post 58.

Indiana Academy for Science, Math & Humanities High School student Matthew Reed of Coatesville, who is sponsored by his parents.

Indiana Academy for Science, Math & Humanities High School student Michael Reed of Coatesville, who is sponsored by his parents.

They heard an inspirational message from Hall of Fame football coach and Trine trustee Lou Holtz on Wednesday.
