Mildred Wampler

Mildred Wampler, 92, of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Garden Villa after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

She was born in Greencastle, but lived in Bloomington until her retirement from the MCCSC at age 65. She then moved to Orlando, Fla., where she lived for 20 years.

Recently, she lived at Red Bud Hills but when she no longer could care for herself moved to Garden Villa.

She is survived by her three daughters, Janet (Larry) Martin of Edgewater, Md., Linda (Brian) Mead of Goodyear, Ariz., and Terri Wood of Bloomington; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wampler Jr., who owned Wampler Barber Shop in Bloomington, and a stillborn son, Jerry Keith.

Memorial services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 2 at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Bloomington.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m.
