Area 30 works on preparing for new school year

It was a quick meeting early Tuesday morning for the Area 30 Career Center Board. Members spoke on several routine matters in a meeting that lasted just less than a half hour.

It's that time of year when board members switch seats. The new Area 30 officers for the 2012-13 school year are Carrie Milner as board president, Murray Pride as vice president and Lori Richmond as secretary.

Along with electing officers, the board set the meeting dates for the upcoming 2012-13 school year. It was decided to follow the same pattern as last year, the second Tuesday of each month.

The proposed time is 8:30 a.m. for an executive session and 9 a.m. for the regular meeting.

The board also passed the 2012-13 budget, the Non-Certified Staff Handbook, as well as the 2012-13 Certified and Student Handbooks.

Meanwhile, the resignation of business education liaison Janet Branneman was approved along with the appointment of attorney Larry J. Gesse and Cindy Burnham as treasurer.
