Freeda A. Spencer

Freeda A. Spencer, 72, Mt. Meridian, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at her residence. She was born on March 5, 1940 in Richlands, Va. and was the daughter of the late Edgar E. and Winifred F. (Whitt) Bryant.

She was married to Ken Spencer on September 21, 1957 and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Donna Nichols and husband Randy, Edgewater, Fla. and Carl Spencer and wife Cheryl; Greencastle, her sister, Rita Pierce and husband Ted, Mt. Meridian; her brothers, Kenneth A. Bryant and wife Phyllis, Bristol, Va. and Lonnie Bryant, Florida; her grandchildren, Jessica Saucerman and husband Justin, Katie Spencer and Marcella Eastham and husband Nick; her great-grandson, Wittn Eastham.

She was a member of the Deer Creek Primitative Baptist Church and former member of Women of the Moose and had the owned and operated Paper Magic, Greencastle. She had also been a foster mother for many years.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the New Providence Cemetery, Greencastle.
