Dorothy Jeanette Hamblen, 69, Cloverdale, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 at Putnam County Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 6, 1943 at Quincy, Ind., and was the daughter of the late John J. and Catherina A. (Van Der Bol) Steele.
She married Percy Joe Hamblen on Feb. 14, 2008, and he survives.
She is also survived by her children, Cathy Bixler, Quincy, and Robbie Minnick, Poland; her brothers, Francis J. Steele, Cloverdale, Earl J. Steele, Campbell, Mo., Christopher J. Steele, Thailand, and Michael P. Steele, Somerset, Ky., her grandchildren, NaTasha Burns, Tom Bixler III and Sophie Minnick; and her great-grandson, Gary Burns.
She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Poland, and was a retired LPN, having worked in various healthcare facilities.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday. Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Mary Steele; her brother, William G. Steele; and a granddaughter, Tara Darlene Bixler.
