Wanda Glo Prichard Merrick

Wanda Glo Prichard Merrick, 88, Greencastle, formerly of Belle Union, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 at Putnam County Hospital.

She was born on May 29, 1924 on the family farm near Belle Union, and was the daughter of the late Gilbert Earl and Gladys Lucille (Dorsett) Prichard.

She married Franz B. Merrick on Jan. 21, 1968, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1986.

She was a lifetime member of the Union Valley Baptist Church, being baptized in Mill Creek near Mount Meridian at the age of 12.

She was a 1942 graduate of Belle Union High School. She graduated from the Methodist School of Nursing in 1945, and did private duty nursing.

She was a member of Order of Eastern Star chapter 519, Cartersburg, and the Indiana State Nurses Association.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. Patrick Smith officiating.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in New Providence Cemetery.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Morrin Glen Prichard.
