DANVILLE -- The North Putnam girls' golf team accomplished something they've been striving for all season thus far -- picking up its first win. The Cougars got the better of Owen Valley Monday 213-225.

Josie Parent led the Cougars with a 49, earning her medalist on the night. Ellen Wilborn and Emmy Rees followed with a pair of 53s. Jessie Cox rounded out the scoring with a 58. Olivia Zarate came to the clubhouse with a 66 for North Putnam.

"The total team scores keep dropping thanks to the lower number of putts and improved striking power," North Putnam head coach Linda Patrick said.

The Cougars will host Cascade Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
