Thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Isaac, this past weekend Greencastle and Putnam County finally got the good, soaking rain farmers and homeowners have been waiting for since mid-May. Constant rainfall Sunday morning and afternoon turned local roadways into puddles and would-be streams, making for some interesting splashes as vehicles, like this car on U.S. 231 North, just south of the viaduct, tried to navigate through standing and running water. Most of Putnam County got two to three inches of rainfall in the storm that ended Monday morning, the National Weather Service reported.
