South Putnam sweeps Eagle Medley

South Putnam hosted the Eagle Medley cross country race last Thursday, consisting of a 3K, 4K and 5K face on the same course at the same time. They score as a team, each team must have two runners at each distance.

South Putnam was first in the girls' race with a score of 14. Cloverdale, North Putnam and Speedway fielded incomplete teams. In the boys' race, South Putnam posted a score of 15 to claim victory. Speedway was second with 28 points, while North Putnam and Cloverdale tied for third place with 38.

In the girls' 3K race, Cloverdale's Claudia Monnett won with a time of 13:34, with teammate Bailee Stevens placing second with a time of 14:38. South Putnam's Jessica Jones was third with a time of 16:02 and teammate Hannah Jones was fourth in a time of 16:23.

North Putnam's Alex Land was sixth with a time of 20:32, with teammate Clarre Dean finishing seventh in a time of 21:02. South Putnam's Alex Lesko placed eighth in a time of 21:03.

South Putnam's Mallory Glaze placed first in the 4K race with a time of 18:17. Cloverdale's Amillia Nally was second with a time of 18:57, while South Putnam's Michaela Scales placed third in a time of 19:37. Cloverdale's Laura Worthington came in fifth with a time of 20:33.

The Eagles also took the top spot in the 5K race as Julianna Delano was first with a time of 24:11. Eagle teammate Angel Nield was second with a time of 25:48.

In the boys' 3K race, South Putnam's Hunter Barr was first with a time of 11:28. North Putnam's Dalton Spear followed in second with a time of 12:12. Cloverdale's Jake Waycott was third in a time of 13:03, with South Putnam teammates Lane Franklin and Jake Schroer placing fourth and fifth with time of 13:26 and 13:34, respectively.

Cougar runner Elisha Volland was eighth with a time of 16:47 and Cloverdale's Austin Nelson was ninth in a time of 17:44.

South Putnam's Berendt Freeman toped the field in the 4K race, posting a time of 14:12. Chris Worthington of Cloverdale was second with at time of 15:45. South Putnam runners Colton Bunten was third with a time of 15:57 and Cody Evans was fourth with a time of 16:05.

North Putnam's Trae Straziscar was seventh in a time of 17:02, followed closely by teammate Chase Salyers in eighth in a time of 17:07. Clover runner Christian Laferry was ninth in a time of 17:11 and North Putnam's Nick Ballard was 10th in a time of 22:02.

In the 5K race, South Putnam's Matt Lund was second with a time of 19:17. Fellow Eagle runners Matt Allen and Tyler Nield placed fourth and fifth with times of 20:12 and 20:24, respectively.

North Putnam's Trent Mason was sixth in a time of 21:31, with Cloverdale's Ethan Mayners placing seventh in 21:34 and Nick Blundell placing eighth in 21:59.

Cougar runners Trebor Mason was ninth in a time of 2:18 and Darion Brown was 10th in a time of 31:19.
