Charles Estle Poole, 99, of Plainfield, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, just 16 days away from his 100th birthday.

He was born Sept. 28, 1912 in Peoria, Ill., to the late Riley and Myrtle (Poynter) Poole.

He retired from Chrysler Foundry in 1977 as a welder.

He married Nellie P. Blanton on Feb. 24, 1940 in Somerset, Ky., and she preceded him in death in 2000.

Estle was a charter member of Bridgeport Central Baptist Church and Bridgeport Masonic Lodge 162.

Survivors include five sons, Hollis M., Dwight R., Norman G., Michael K. and Rodney P. Poole; two sisters, Zella Frazier and Clarice West; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Cartersburg.
