Information meeting for 2012 Community Christmas Choir

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Plans are underway for the 11th annual Community Christmas Choir of Putnam, Montgomery and Parke Counties. An informational meeting will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16 in the Sanctuary of Browns Valley Christian Church, 9011 S. State Road 47, Crawfordsville.

This year's selected Christmas musical is titled "Hope of the Broken World. It was created by Dave Clark and David T. Clydesdale and arranged and orchestrated by David T. Clydesdale.

The Community Christmas Choir is a non-affiliated community-based group of choir members living in Putnam, Montgomery and Parke counties. This invitation is not intended in any way to replace or detract from any Christmas performance individual churches may be planning.

This community group was created to provide vocalists and listeners an additional opportunity to celebrate during the joyous time of year.

Last year the choir had nearly 90 members in the choir and more than 1,500 people in attendance.

This year the Christmas musical will be performed at the Russellville Community Center on December 7, 8 and 9. Even those who don't choose to participate are invited to attend the dinner and concert.

Information about the performance and pre-concert meals will be provided in November.

"Hope of the Broken World" will feature narration, drama, solos, duets, the adult community choir and a children's choir. The music is arranged SATB and is moderately easy.

A songbook for purchase and a free practice CD will be available to all those who join this year.

At the organizational meeting organizers will create an accommodating rehearsal schedule and sight-read the music.

This invitation is open to anyone who desires to be part of a fun-filled and soul-stirring opportunity. No one will be asked to audition for the choir, but only to possess the courage to turn ordinary voices into extraordinary worship.

Make Jesus part of your celebration this Christmas season.
