Richard 'Ricky' Allen Johnson

Richard "Ricky" Allen Johnson, 28, of Clay City, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept.13, 2012.

He was born July 7, 1984 in Putnam County, the son of Timothy Allen Johnson and Mary Kathleen Mundy Johnson.

He graduated from Cloverdale High School and also attended Indiana State University for two years.

Ricky served in the National Guard at Greencastle. He had worked as a welder at Great Dane.

While in high school, Ricky was involved in wrestling and in the band. He enjoyed music and played the saxophone. In 2002 he received a medal for his class in wrestling.

Ricky was a kind and generous young man.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Kathleen Warren; a sister, Cassy Sueanne Johnson; grandmother Patricia Johnson; and great-grandparents Roy and Sally Cooper.

Survivors include his father, Tim Johnson and stepmother, Tracy Hines-Johnson of Clay City; his five-year-old daughter, Audrianna Kathleen Johnson of Greencastle; grandparents Robert L. Johnson of Grand Rapids, Mich., Judy and Ennis Slater, Glen and Hattie Terrell, Wanda and Pat Kelly; sisters Faith Eleanor Johnson, Ashley Nicole Johnson and Heather Nicole Barnes; brothers Matthew Allen Johnson and Nicklaus Tyler Warren; several aunts, uncles and extended family and friends.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Clay City, with his grandpa, Robert Johnson, officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m.
