At the conclusion of Saturday evening's Taste of Putnam County, the Inn at DePauw was announced as the peoples' choice winner of the Putnam County Traveling Gold Plate as "Best Restaurant." Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tammy Amor (center) makes the presentation to Sue Ash (left), executive chef of 2 West and catering at the Inn at DePauw, and Cindy Benson, executive chef of The Fluttering Duck at the facility. Each diner had one blue ticket to vote for his or her favorite restaurant at the event. The Inn at DePauw served pulled pork sliders, a chicken breast over mashed potatoes with a basil red sauce and funnel cakes fries with chocolate or raspberry sauce.
More than 500 people sampled delicacies provided by nine local restaurants and businesses Saturday evening during the annual Taste of Putnam County event at the Dixie Chopper Business Center at the Putnam County Airport.

Overall, a beautiful mid-September day allowed the appreciative crowd to enjoy the entertainment outside, including the stylings of local singer Mary Michael.
