Why Can't We Be Friends?

Thursday, September 20, 2012
Friendship Day 2012 gave local residents a chance to spread a little sunshine on Wednesday by passing out roses around town. Participants could pick up a free dozen roses at any one of 12 Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce member locations. One rose could be kept, provided the other 11 were handed out to other people. Chet O'Neal, pictured above receiving the dozen roses from Laura Lee Bollman at Eitel's Florist, took some of his roses to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, where Vova Johnson (below) was more than happy to receive a rose and a little friendship. • Thank you Greencastle Chamber of Commerce for the roses. My dozen saw twelve smiley faced recipiants. Great idea that I look forward to every year. Thanks again.
