Charlotte Faye Stewart, age 68, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, surrounded by her family.
Born Nov. 15, 1943 in West Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Clarence and Susan (Bemis) Knight.
She was a graduate of Brazil High School.
Charlotte had been a cook at Greencastle High School for 20 years. After her retirement, she was asked to work for the Delta Gamma Sorority at DePauw University, and she was with them for 15 years.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Greencastle.
She loved to be with her grandchildren, attending their sporting and school events; loved being with family and friends, traveling, gambling and yard sales.
Survivors include her husband; children Coty Lee (Jill) Stewart, Ty De-on Stewart, Guy Dean Stewart and companion Shannon, all of Greencastle, and Chana Dee Stewart and companion Jason of Lafayette; her sisters, Phyllis Akers of Terre Haute and Colette (Dennis) Johnson of Brazil; five grandchildren, James Andrew Stewart, Jessica Paige Stewart, Payne De-on Stewart, Sadie Lynn Stewart and Joshua Lee Stewart; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clayton "Buddy" Knight, and two sisters, Roxanne and Juanita Knight.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Kelso "Buck" Martin officiating with burial to follow at the Clinton Falls Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24 at the funeral home with a Moose Lodge Memorial walk-thru ceremony at 7 p.m.
