Steve Richards

Steve Richards, born May 1, 1965, Indianapolis, was a father, a son, a husband, a lover, a friend, a server, an artist and a musical advocate.

His life had a monumental impact on those blessed enough to know him well. Steve loved to lift others to laughter and enjoyed celebrating life. His presence was that of an embracing character that brought music, fulfillment, happiness and love.

Steve opened his home to all and offered all he had to those who attended. Many people, after spending just a night celebrating their existence with him and his family, realized the joy of his presence and were at ease.

Steve Richards left little time for judgment as he traded it for acceptance. As a father his voice was a calming influence and his hands were there for holding only. Never one to yell, he would bend on knee to hear his sons' voices; to take orders at the pretend drive through; or to just to give a hug.

Steve understood the brevity of life and chose to live his in the moment. For that we are all thankful as he reminded us that we are who we are and nothing but ourselves.

Steve is survived by his partner Julie Shough; sons Elliot and Wesley Richards; brother John W. Richards; mother Sandy Fotiades Richards Tovey; father Bill Richards; stepfather, Jack Tovey; stepmother Dorothy Richards; and Elliot's mother, Julia Boody.
