I-70 project will close SR 39 westbound ramps for resurfacing

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced that the resurfacing project on Interstate 70 will close the westbound ramps at State Road 39 (Exit 59) beginning Tuesday evening to mill and resurface the ramps.

Crews plan the following schedule for closures:

-- From 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 to 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 for the westbound I-70 exit ramp to State Road 39.

-- From 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 to 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 for the State Road 39 ramp to westbound I-70.

The work schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.

The project was awarded to Rieth-Riley for $7.7 million. The project will have 11-foot lane restrictions on the interstate in the area the contractor will be working.

The project is scheduled for completion by Nov. 15.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
