Boller seeks commissioner seat as Independent

Charlie Boller is an Independent candidate for Putnam County Commissioner, First District, in the Nov. 6 general election.

Boller was raised and currently resides in Bainbridge. The 42-year-old is married, with two children and one grandchild.

He is completing his second term as a member of the North Putnam School Board and has been an Indiana State Trooper for 12 years.

"I have never considered myself loyal to any political party," Boller said. "I have always voted for the individual, and not their political party of choice."

Following his eight years on the school board, Boller decided to find a way to continue serving the people of Putnam County.

"I became a candidate for this particular position to continue my public service," he said. "I intend to always live in Putnam County, so I want to help maintain what we have that is good and assist with improving the areas that need attention.

"I also have plans to run for Putnam County Sheriff in the future," he added. "I feel this would serve as a good way for the public to decide if I would make a sensible choice for that position in the future."

The candidate added he will be taking an unusual approach to his campaign.

"I won't be knocking at your door, taking your time at social events, bothering you at the polling sites, or putting up signs," Boller said. "I would like for you to consider making a donation to your favorite charity in Putnam County during this election season.

"If elected, I am going to donate the average that is spent by the other two candidates in this race to two charities, the A-Way Home Shelter and the Humane Society."

Boller said he will make himself available to any person or group who would like to talk to him about their concerns and issues or about Boller's thoughts and intentions.
