York Chrysler Dodge Jeep helped raise $879 for Deer Meadow Primary School with Chrysler's Drive for the Kids program. The event took place on Friday, Aug. 24 and was sponsored by the Deer Meadow PTO.

Chrysler contributed $10 for each of the 87 participants who took a brief test drive in a Town & Country minivan. York supplied the vehicles, and volunteers from the dealership were on hand to assist in the fundraising drive.

Deer Meadow will use the $870 from Chrysler to help purchase new playground equipment.

"Drive for the Kids is a mutually beneficial program. We're pleased to support our local schools and enjoy demonstrating a terrific, world class product," York sales manager Greg Simpson said. "Parents are genuinely interested in testing our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country minivan with all the advanced safety, technology and economy features and we are happy to help raise extra dollars for the school.

"We all work together for the kids. Everyone has a great time."

Since 1993, when Chrysler introduced Drive for the Kids, dealers have worked with parents and educators in communities across the nation. Chrysler has contributed more than $4 million directly to local schools for students needs from playgrounds and field trips to reading programs and computers.
