John Norberg, a Lafayette journalist, humorist and author of books on Purdue University history and achievements, will be the featured speaker at a dinner sponsored by the Purdue Club of Putnam County on Thursday, Oct. 25.

The 6:30 p.m. dinner, to be held at Autumn Glen in Greencastle, is open to the public.

Norberg is also the author of "Heartbeat of the University: 125 Years of Purdue Bands" (2011) and "Three Tigers and Purdue: Stories of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and an American University" (1999) which describes the long-term relationship between Purdue and those countries through stories of the international students on campus at Purdue.

A communication manager at Purdue, Norberg is a DePauw University graduate and started his career at the Brazil Times. He was a 30-year journalist with the Lafayette Journal & Courier and still writes a column for the newspaper.

Cost of the dinner is $20 per person. Reservations can be made with Sandy Williams (653-3523) or Marianne Ash (386-7554) by Oct. 19.
