Norberg to speak Oct. 25 at Purdue Club Dinner event

John Norberg, a Lafayette journalist, humorist and author of books on Purdue University history and achievements, will be the featured speaker at a dinner sponsored by the Purdue Club of Putnam County on Thursday, Oct. 25.

The 6:30 p.m. dinner, to be held at Autumn Glen in Greencastle, is open to the public.

Norberg has authored six books, including "Wings of Their Dreams: Purdue in Flight" (2003), which focuses on the history of flight and space and the many individuals who have contributed to Purdue's importance in aviation and space achievements. He will discuss those at the dinner.

Norberg is also the author of "Heartbeat of the University: 125 Years of Purdue Bands" (2011) and "Three Tigers and Purdue: Stories of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and an American University" (1999) which describes the long-term relationship between Purdue and those countries through stories of the international students on campus at Purdue.

A communication manager at Purdue, Norberg is a DePauw University graduate and started his career at the Brazil Times. He was a 30-year journalist with the Lafayette Journal & Courier and still writes a column for the newspaper.
