INDIANAPOLIS -- Faegre Baker Daniels LLP is pleased to announce that Monica Fennell has joined the firm as pro bono manager. Prior to joining the firm, Fennell was executive director of the Indiana Pro Bono Commission and recently returned from Bangkok, Thailand, where she served as a Rotary Peace Fellow at Chulalongkorn University.

Fennell brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in pro bono matters, including: overseeing the 12 pro bono district offices that were created by Indiana Supreme Court rule; initiating, researching and drafting policy proposals; integrating pro bono mediation efforts; and training and managing district pro bono plan administrators. Fennell also served as a Supreme Court Fellow, assigned to the Administrative Offices of the U. S. Courts in which she conducted and assisted in AO projects, examining federal judicial process and projects seeking, proposing and implementing solutions to problems in administration of justice.

"The addition of Monica to our pro bono team underscores the firm's strong commitment to pro bono service," stated Dianne Heins, director and pro bono counsel for Faegre Baker Daniels. "We are the first firm in Indiana to create a professional position to direct the firm's efforts to increase access to the justice system in our communities."

In her new role at the firm, Fennell will be responsible for developing and managing pro bono initiatives for firm lawyers to volunteer their unique professional skills, primarily focused on addressing unmet legal needs of poor and disadvantaged persons.

Fennell earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and her bachelor's degree from Williams College.
