Putnam Circuit Court JUDGE MATT HEADLEY was recently among the dozens of judicial officers recognized for their commitment to higher education and their long-time service to the judicial branch during 2012.

Headley one of the 30 officials who completed the Indiana Graduate Program for Judges. The program is an in-depth and intensive learning experience which requires one week of course work for two consecutive summers with additional assignments.

"More than 50 judicial officers were honored this year for their participation in a number of different judicial education programs," Chief Justice Brent E. Dickson said. "I commend these judicial officers for their commitment to ensuring justice for the citizens of Indiana."

The Greencastle Civic League Inc. welcomed four new members into the organization this week. New members include NIKKI CHRISTLIEB, ALIA HAZEL, SHERRY HEDGE and ANASTASIA WELLS.

The Civic League will be accepting nominations for new members at its December meeting. Anyone interested in joining should contact Emily Knuth at 653-4410 or eknuth@further.com by Dec. 1.
