South Putnam grapplers have up and down weekend

The South Putnam wrestling team competed at the Brownsburg invitational recently, finishing with a 2-3 record at the event.

Jacob Camacho and Jacob Williams had undefeated records on the day.

The team topped Crawfordsville (39-31) and North Putnam (66-18).

Host Brownsburg got past South Putnam, 47-24, as did Fishers (38-33) and Plainfield (41-25).

The Eagles and Cougars return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 27. SPHS hosts Monrovia at 6 p.m. and NPHS hosts Tri-West at 6:30 p.m.

SPHS was recently ranked as the No. 9 small school team in the state by the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association.

The team was also honored to be one of 24 teams invited to compete in the first IHSWCA State Duals Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 22 at Westfield High School.

North Putnam's next hosts Tri-West on Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
