Tiger Cubs' JV girls' winning in bunches

The Greencastle girls' junior varsity basketball team completed a perfect three-game stretch recently.

The team won JV Basketball Invite at Terre Haute South High School on Saturday, Nov. 17.

The Tiger Cubs defeated West Vigo in the first round, 40-35, and topped host Terre Haute South in the final, 26-15.

On Tuesday, Nov. 20 the girls bested Crawfordsville, 37-26.

The team averaged only 12 turnovers per game during the streak.

Sophomore Lauren Bridgewater led the team in scoring, averaging 7.7 points per game.

Freshman Alison White averaged scored 22 points in the three games, followed in total by sophomore Tera Amis (16 points), sophomore Delanie Stoltey (15 points, one game), sophomore Madison Trout (12), freshman Paige Bragg (seven), sophomore Taylor Stoltey (three, one game), freshman Marley Haltom (two), freshman Megan Haltom and sophomore Sydney Smiley (one, one game).

The contributions freshmen Kaylee Evans and Bethanie Burgeson had to the wins did not show up on the scoreboard.

The JV team returns to action at Tri-West on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m.
