South Putnam boys lose to Danville
The South Putnam boys' basketball team was defeated by Danville on Tuesday, 54-31.
The Eagles (1-1) were led in scoring by Ryan Chestnut, who had eight points and seven rebounds.
SPHS shot 37.5 percent from the field, but made 0-of-six three point attempts and only one-of-eight free throws.
Danville's Ian Asher was the game's high-scorer with 17, followed by Avery Motes, who made four-of-six threes and totaled 16.
The Eagles outrebounded Danville, 30-28, but committed 25 turnovers.
SPHS returns to action on Friday against Greencastle in the opening round of the Putnam County Classic at 6:30 p.m.
