South Putnam Eagles lose to South Vermillion Wildcats in overtime, 53-51

The South Putnam girls' basketball team lost to South Vermillion in overtime on Tuesday, 53-51.

The Eagles (3-4) came back from a six-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter, rallying to force overtime, but they came up just short.

Senior Leanna Masters led the team with 23 points and 17 rebounds.

Fellow senior Mattie Varvel chipped in another 17 points.

The Eagles return to action Friday when they host West Central Conference opponent Cascade at 6 p.m.
