County Jail

Several people have been booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* On Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 12:55 p.m. Chad William Wilson, 37, Cloverdale, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

At 7:31 p.m. Daphne LeAnn Glendy, 23, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for violation of home detention.

At 7:35 p.m. Scott Cole, 40, Reelsville, was charged with nonsupport of a dependent.

At 9:15 p.m. Charles Ryan Wood, 31, Greencastle, was booked in for nonsupport of a dependent.

* On Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 4 a.m. Jared Lee Hornaday, 23, Fillmore, was arrested for nonsupport of a dependent.

City Police

Four recent property-damage accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 1:03 p.m. Tuesday, a two-vehicle accident was reported at South Jackson and Walnut streets.

Marvin Wilson, 76, Bainbridge, was southbound on Jackson Street, driving a 2005 Toyota Scion, when a 1998 Ford Windstar, driven by Robert Elmore, 44, Greencastle, entered the intersection westbound on Walnut Street after stopping for the sign at Jackson.

The vehicles collided in the intersection, resulting in an estimated $5,000-$10,000 damage, Officer Albert Epple reported.

-- At 1:26 p.m. Sunday, a two-vehicle accident was reported on State Road 240 at Indianapolis Road on the city's East Side.

Sergio Meza, 34, Cloverdale, was westbound on 240, slowing for a red light at Indianapolis Road in a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche.

Capt. Mike Hanlon reported that the stopped Meza vehicle was struck from behind by a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Amanda Boling, 24, Clayton, who was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision.

Total damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

-- At 2:57 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, a two-vehicle mishap occurred on Bloomington Street at Veterans Memorial Highway.

Betty Parrish, 76, Greencastle, was eastbound on Veterans Highway, driving a 1992 Ford F-150 truck. She reported having the green light.

Alicia Craig, 18, Clay City, was westbound on Veterans Highway, attempting to turn left onto Bloomington Street in a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse. She also said she had the green light.

A collision occurred as Craig turned south and Parrish continued eastbound, Officer Darrel Bunten reported.

Total damage was listed at $5,000-$10,000.

-- At 1:53 p.m. Dec. 15, a two-vehicle accident was reported on Bloomington Street at its intersection with Apple Street in the city's South End.

John Condon III, 36, Greencastle, was northbound on Bloomington Street, driving a 1992 Chevrolet pickup when a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Rosemarie Shaw, 57, Greencastle, reportedly pulled out of Apple Street into the path of the truck.

Shaw was unable to stop the car in time to avoid a collision because of the wet pavement at the time, Officer Bunten noted.

Total damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.
