Beck attends commissioners training workshops

Current Putnam County Commissioner and Putnam County Councilman-elect Gene Beck recently attended the Indiana Association of County Commissioners (IACC) annual conferences.

The purpose of the IACC conference is the improve commissioners' service to their constituents through education and training. More than 360 commissioners, auditors, highway engineers and supervisors and other county officials attend the conference.

The keynote speaker at the conference was Governor-elect Mike Pence, who spoke about being committed to excellence and about his plan to move Indiana forward.

Beck and others attended several workshops concerning such county-related topics as being committed to excellence, legislative priorities and initiatives, successful interlocal agreements, the importance of the county veterans service officer, benefits of recycling county roads and commissioners disasters before, during and after disasters.
