Dallas Ray Purvis, 75, of Roachdale, passed away at Brownsburg Meadows at 8:32 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012.
He was born on Aug. 19, 1937 at Omar, W.Va., to Russell and Dama Sexton Purvis.
He was a member of the Roachdale Baptist Church and owned and operated Purvis Markets in Roachdale and Coatesville.
On June 23, 1957 he married Mary Helen Slinker at Richmond, Ind., and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sandy Webb and husband David of Ladoga, and Tammy L. Purvis of Jamestown; three grandchildren, Andrew Webb, Amy and Nicholas Gooderum; two sisters, Marylee McCurdy and Joan Michaels; and a brother. Johnny Purvis and wife Jean of Richmond.
His parents, sister Louise Krantz and grandson Daniel Gooderum preceded him in death.
Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Roachdale Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Rev. Shannon Ivers will officiate with burial in Roachdale Cemetery.
Servies and Morgan Funeral Home at Roachdale is assisting the family.
