Forest Allen "Scotty" Scott, 86, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at Westside Village Healthcare in Indianapolis.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1926 in Ladoga to Offie A. and Lucille Shackelford Scott.
He graduated from Ladoga High School in 1944. He was a member of the Haw Creek Church of Christ. In the last few years his spiritual needs have been met by the Whitesville Christian Church. He was also a member of the Ladoga Lions Club, Ladoga Masonic Lodge and was formerly an active 4-H parent.
He farmed and also worked at R.R. Donnelley's for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army.
He married Evelyn Damewood in 1946 in Ladoga and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by daughter Janet Scott of Ladoga; son Jerry A. (Linda) Scott of Ft Myers , Fla.; four grandchildren, Kelly (Alan) Hedge, Rachel Seipel, Lindsey (Jared) Arndt and Jessie (Treva) Scott; great-granddaughter Hailey Hedge; and sister Virginia Hamilton of Louisiana.
One infant son also preceded him in death.
Funeral Services are planned for Monday Dec. 31, 2012 at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, Ladoga. Masonic memorial services will be at 2 p.m., followed by the funeral service. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Rev. Mike Whitaker will officiate with burial at Ladoga Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Indiana Masonic Home or the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
