He was born in Greencastle, grew up in the Chicago area and lived in Detroit for the past 18 years.
Eric was a graphic artist and a gifted musician who performed with several bands in the Detroit area.
Survivors include his wife Diana (Thomas), parents Joe (Sharon) McNary of Vero Beach and Nancy (Jim) Schultz of Green Valley, Ariz.; sisters Stephanie McNary of Dallas, Megan (Denis) Shchepetov of Grayslake, Ill., Nancy (Russell) Steiner of Chicago and Susan (Raymond) Shingler of Valparaiso; and brothers Clayton (Alex) Schultz of Chicago, Jim (Becky) McLean of Fortville and Mark (Brenda) McLean of Noblesville.
He is remembered by his aunt and uncle, Judy and Jim Williamson; cousins Stacy (Gary) Williams, Steve (Julie) Williamson, Chris (Tina) Williamson, all from Greencastle; aunt Karen (Gerald) Anderson of Highland; uncle Richard (Sandy) Canady of Griffith; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Eric will be held this spring in both Detroit and Chicago.
