Bulb forcing and terrariums at McCloud

Monday, January 7, 2013

Winter scenery got you down? Come to the Nature Center at McCloud Park on Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. for a free program including two projects to make your home bright and cheery.

Build a terrific open or enclosed terrarium to brighten up your living space, and plant a spring flowering bulb to bloom indoors. Bring a smallflowerpot for forcing bulbs, and your own terrarium container and the naturalists will provide plants, soils and instruction to help you create a indoor garden.

This program is designed for ages and above. Pre-registration is required, so call the Hendricks County Parks' main office at 317-718-6188 to reserve your spot.

Admission is always free and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily. The Nature Center's winter hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1- 5 p.m.
