Michael Leo Smith

Michael Leo Smith, 56, of Rockville, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at his residence.

He was born Aug. 20, 1956 in Clinton, Ind. He was the son of Morris L. and Eleanor Craycraft Smith.

Mike was a graduate of Turkey Run High School.

He was a farmer in Greene Township and the owner of MLS Excavating LLC.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Earl Smith, whom he married Feb. 18, 2004.

He is also survived by his daughter, Kelsi Fernandez and her husband Ruben of Danville; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Burns of Monticello, and Cori Hagans and her husband Brandon of Terre Haute; a stepson, Craig Cox of Rockville; a brother, Morris R. Smith and his wife Lynn of Rockville, and proud papaw to eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 with visitation prior to services at Butler Funeral Home, 218 N. College St., Rockville, with Pastor Scott Volland officiating.

Burial will be in Portland Mills Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the funeral home.
