Students from Central Elementary School recently donated more than $200 to the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. Students chose to donate money insteading of having a Christmas gift exchange this year. Presenting the donation were students Bryce Chandler (left), Trevor Vanihel, Logan Jordan, Averie Blaydes, Savanna Workman and Savanna Junkin. Ginger Scott (left) accepted the donation for the Red Cross. Classes that were part of the donation were Mrs. Michael Fisher, Mrs. Becky Phillips and Mrs. Andrea Smith. The American Red Cross has provided food, shelter, relief supplies and comfort to the thousdands of people who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The Red Cross has provided more than 9.2 million meals and snacks, handed out more than 6.7 million relief items including cold weather items and clean up supplies, provided more than 105,000 health services and emotional support contact for people in tough conditions and much more. There are currently more than 1,100 Red Cross workers still on the ground supporting survivors.
