Second South Putnam Alumni Banquet scheduled for April 20

Monday, February 4, 2013

The second annual South Putnam Alumni Banquet is being planned by the South Putnam Community Education Foundation and the Alumni Banquet Committee.

The Alumni Banquet is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the Dixie Chopper Final Approach facility at the Putnam County Airport.

Organizers are planning a tour of South Putnam High School at 4 p.m. and a social hour at 5 p.m. at Dixie Chopper.

The SPHS classes of 1972 and 1987 will be honored along with the selection of the South Putnam Hall of Fame honorees.

The committee is requesting Hall of Fame nominee applications be sent via email to Anita Bartley Ferrand at anitaferrand@yahoo.com by March 1.

The emailed submissions should include the nominee's name and a brief description of the nominee's accomplishments since his or her graduation from South Putnam, as well as contact information for the person making the nomination.

The goal is to recognize those graduates who have made a positive difference in the world, the United States, Indiana or just in Putnam County, organizers said.

The South Putnam Community Education Foundation will also present the 2013 SPCEF Scholarship winner, the Teacher Grant winner, and the 2013 recipient of the Wildman Leadership scholarship during the banquet.

Anyone wishing to serve on a committee to prepare for the banquet is asked to contact Anita Ferrand at the above email address or Steve Cash at spcash@tds.net.

The committee is preparing a registration form to be sent to all graduates who attended the 2012 banquet and the members of the classes of 1972 and 1987.

If you would like to make sure you or any family member receive an invitation or registration form, contact either of the names listed above.
