American Cancer Society Daffodil Days under way

Saturday, February 9, 2013

Putnam County residents can join the fight against cancer by supporting the 2013 American Cancer Society Daffodil Days.

Interested participants can purchase daffodils in several different ways such as by the bunch, a bunch with a vase, or a case of 500. Daffodils can be shared with your employees, family, friends or clients.

"This year to help raise money and awareness we are going to do a big push and wanted to invite your business to join us," Daffodil Days coordinator Brooke Trissel said.

"On Tuesday, Feb. 19 we are having a Dress Down for Daffodils Day," Trissel said. "It is where your staff can donate anywhere from $2 and up to dress down for the day and a chance to order daffodils."

On Feb. 19 the business that collects the most money, either for dressing down, selling or purchasing daffodils will be rewarded with an Andrew Luck jersey to raffle off at one's place of business.

Also, on that night, Mill Pond Health Campus will be hosting a Colts Night with two Colts cheerleaders, mascot Blue and food. All participating businesses, staff and their families are invited. The event will run 6-8 p.m.

Those wishing to participate individually may purchase a bunch for $10, $15 for a bunch with a vase and $500 for 500 daffodils. Trissel will deliver orders in the coming weeks.

The deadline to participate is Monday, Feb. 11. Interested businesses may contact Trissel at 720-4706 or Brooke.Trissel@ millpondhc.com. Be sure to provide the name of business, contact name, address and phone number.
