Charles E. Keeney

Charles E. Keeney, 83, of Russellville, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at the Putnam County Hospital.

He was born in Cincinnati to Ernest Jay and Francis E. Wallace Keeney on Jan. 13, 1930.

Mr. Keeney was a farmer and he opened graves at several cemeteries in surrounding communities. He was a member of the Browns Valley Christian Church. He graduated from Russellville High School in 1948.

He married Mildred L. Clodfelter on Dec. 12, 1948 in Russellville and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Jones and husband Richard of Cloverdale and Lora Bingham and husband Gordon of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two sons, Larry (Mary Lou Pruett) Keeney of Brazil, Lonnie (Brenda) Keeney of Greencastle; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth (Hubert) McGaughey of Morton and Mary Kathleen Davis of Greencastle;

One brother, Donnie Keeney, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18 at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, Waveland. Rev. David Finch will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery at Russellville.
