Paul H. Wichmann, 83, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013.

He was born May 26, 1929 in Tippecanoe County, the son of Fred and Emma (Haben) Wichmann. He was a 1947 graduate of Clinton Center High School.

He married Charlotte (Brackney) Wichmann on July 14, 1950 and she survives.

Paul had served in the 82nd Airborne of the United States Army.

Paul retired from the Putnamville Correctional Facility, where he worked as food service supervisor, and after retirement worked at Old Hickory Golf course as a maintenance man. He previously had worked at DePauw University and Lonestar Industries.

He was a member of the Greencastle Elks Club.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte; two daughters, Paula L. Meluch and friend Bart Ng of Greencastle and Rhonda (John) Mace of Fillmore; four grandchildren, Jayson (Angie) Mace, Jonna Mace, Bryan Meluch, and George Meluch and fiancée Jennie Koors; and two great-grandchildren, Madyson Mace and Emily Meluch.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Everett Wichmann; four sisters, Ruth Brook, Irene Phillips, Dorothy Merley and Phyllis White; and a half sister, Vera Wichmann.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Barber officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
