County Jail

Four people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

* At 6:26 a.m. Joseph Paul Ferran, 31, Martinsville, was arrested for probation violation.

* At 3:07 p.m. Kristopher Marc Hardy, 30, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for violation of home detention.

* At 9:29 p.m. Christy Diane Truax, 39, Ettyville, Ky., was charged with operating while intoxicated and probation violation.

* At 9:41 p.m. Brandy R. Pine, 30, Terre Haute, was booked in for nonsupport of a dependent and failure to appear.

City Police

Seven recent traffic citations were issued by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, Scott Burk, 55, Bakersfield, Calif., was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham for 52 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

-- At 3:10 a.m. Tuesday, Emanuel Guy, 26, Greencastle, was cited on Elizabeth Street by Sgt. Charles Inman for being an operator never licensed.

-- At 2 p.m. Monday, Shauwana Chitwood, 38, Ellettsville, was cited by Officer Albert Epple for permitting a violation on U.S. 231 South. Chitwood allegedly allowed someone else to drive her vehicle, knowing it had an expired registration, police said.

-- At 2:09 p.m. Sunday, Georgia Morrissey, 18, Greencastle, received two tickets from Capt. Mike Hanlon. She was cited for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone on Shadowlawn Avenue and for disregarding a stopsign at Shadowlawn and Fawn View Lane.

-- At 3:50 p.m. Feb. 8, Austin Alspaugh, 17, Greencastle, was cited by Reserve Officer Jerett Query on East Washington Street for an expired license plate.

--At 2:20 p.m. Feb. 8, Jessica Holsapple, 36, Cloverdale, was ticketed by Capt. Hanlon for 45 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street.

City Fire

* At 6:35 p.m. Tuesday the Greencastle Fire Department was dispatched to assist Cloverdale with a structure fire at 5118 E. CR 700 South, but was disregarded en route at 6:44 p.m.

* At 7:31 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters performed a medical assist at 202 S. Indiana St. They returned to station at 7:52 p.m.
