Rita Dee Sibbitt

Rita Dee Sibbitt, 73, of Carbon, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at her residence.

Born Nov. 25, 1939 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Noble and Margaret (Channey) Robinson.

She attended Fillmore Schools, where she had been a cheerleader. She married Robert "Bob" Sibbitt, who survives.

Rita worked at the Greencastle and Brazil Walmarts until her retirement.

She was a homemaker and helped her husband with the farm.

She, loved to sing, and loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was member of Fillmore Christian Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Forever Friends Club.

Survivors include her husband, Bob; son Craig (Jeanne) Sibbitt of Greencastle; two daughters, Rhonda (Jim) Sims of Fillmore and Anita Sibbitt of Coatesville; grandchildren Jamie Sibbitt, Brandon Cox, Jodie Hamm, Cody Sims, John Sibbitt, Autumn Bartley, Robert Sims and Josh Burger; seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-laws, Bill (Jane) Sibbitt and Don (Pam) Sibbitt; sisters-in-law Joyce (Dick) Earley and Sandy (Barry) Grimes; an aunt, Maxine Harris; and her dog, "Poo."

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bob Robinson.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Brett Parks officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
