Turner Syndrome

Wednesday, February 27, 2013
With Brandy Whitehead (left) of Greencastle looking on, Mayor Sue Murray signs a proclamation recently declaring February as Turner Syndrome Awareness Month. The mayoral proclamation encourages citizens to increase awareness, education and services for Turner Syndrome, a non-inheritable chromosomal disorder that affects one in 2,500 female births. Statistics show it affects hundreds of female babies born each year in Indiana. Early diagnosis can facilitate prevention or remediation of growth failure, hearing problems and learning difficulties.
