Parke County man arrested for alleged child molesting

A Parke County man has been arrested late last week for alleged child molestion.

Detectives from the Putnamville Indiana State Police Post have arrested 51-year-old Raymond H. Cooprider on four two counts of child molesting, a Class C felony.

Cooprider is alleged to have fondled the victims on Jan. 22, during a visit to his residence in rural southeastern Parke County.

The female victims, ages two and three, were acquaintances of the suspect.

The alleged acts were initially reported to the Indiana Department of Child Services with DCS reporting the violations to Indiana State Police on Jan. 24.

Cooprider was arrested without incident Thursday, Feb. 21, at the home of a family member in Clay County.

He is being held on a $15,000 bond in the Parke County Jail.

The case was investigated by ISP Detective Brian Maudlin. Assisting were Trooper Michael Featherling, Indiana Department of Child Services and the Parke County Prosecutor's Office.
