Ralph H. Barcus, 90, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013.

Born Nov. 14, 1922 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Edward O. and Barbara (Cox) Barcus.

He was a 1940 graduate of Cloverdale High School.

He married Geraldine G. Barcus on June 30, 1946, and she survives.

Ralph was a veteran, having served in the United States Army.

He worked at Allison's Division of General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1980.

He was a member of the Fillmore Christian Church, Temple Masonic Lodge 47, Order of the Eastern Star and the Scottish Rite.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; two daughters, Mary Ann (Bernie) Cripe and Carolyn New; a sister, Phyllis Shoemaker (Dave) Phacker; five granddaughters, Lisa Hornback, Tammara Prager, Carrie Miller, Natalie Ladiero and Mary Mariah New; and five great-grandchildren, Drew and Emily Miller, Ian and Brianna Ladiero and Alyssa Prager.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, James New; two sisters, Ruth Nickerson and Eileen Akins; and a brother, Bill Barcus

Masonic memorial and funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 with Randy Seipel and Rev. Paul Taylor officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
