A Little Dinner Music

Monday, March 11, 2013
Diners at Almost Home and the Swizzle Stick on the north side of the courthouse square in Greencastle got a surprise with their dinner Wednesday night. Performers from the DePauw University Chamber Singers entertain in the first of a weekly series of performances that will continue through May 8 (except for spring break). Different DePauw music groups will perform dinner music 6-7 p.m. to coincide with create-your-own-pasta night each Wednesday. "It's not overpowering music," Swizzle Stick spokesman Jake Crosby said, "so you'll be able to enjoy it and still talk to the person next to you." This week, on Wednesday, March 13, the DePauw Sax Quartet will play, followed on March 20 by Voice Studios. After spring break, the schedule will include Woodwind Ensembles on April 3, Brass Ensembles on April 10, The Faction Sax Quartet on April 17, String Ensembles April 24, a piano performance on May 1 and the Best of Recital Hour May 8.

  • I had the pleasure of seeing them perform, and they were terrific!
